Katsanzaira Mbira made by Charles Ruhukwa

Description

6 1/2″ (16.5 cm) +/- 1/8″ wide board with 7″ (18 cm) key spread,  or 6 3/4″ (17 cm) wide board with 7 1/4″ (18.5 cm) key spread. 24-key mbira with metal beads on a wire for gentle buzz, and wired construction, sweet sound. Katsanzaira tuning is a very sweet high pitched Dorian mode tuning, pitch of lowest note about E flat. Katsanzaira means the sound of the first gentle rain before a storm.
