Description

These are wonderful classic recordings of the mbira group that featured Ephat Mujuru, together with ‘Sekuru Gora’ Thomas Wadarwa on lead vocals. These were the first recordings to make mavembe, also known as gandanga, tuning widely known in Zimbabwe. Some tracks are played solo by Ephat on njari. 2 older tracks of Ephat with Mhuri yekwaMujuru are also included in this archive. Proceeds support Ephat’s children and Sekuru Gora’s widow.
