Description

Enjoy the very, VERY low pitch of Golden Nhamo’s nyamaropa tuning mbira. Nhamo’s rhythmic feel will get you snapping your fingers and tapping your toes. Pfumo jena and Mudzimu dzoka are songs more usually sung with drums, but Nhamo’s low mbira versions more than do them justice. This version of Shumba, starting from a higher note than the more usual version, seemed to be one of the most popular songs of 2002 in Zimbabwe. With Collins Bvukubwe on hosho, and Luken Pasipamire Kwari and Samson Bvure on vocals. [Total time: 66:00]
