Description
Enjoy these long tracks that are the way traditional mbira players play in ceremonies – settling deep into a groove so the community can dance all night. Recorded at the home of the Magaya family in Mhondoro, Simon Matikiti was one of the mbira partners of the late Cosmas Magaya when they were young. Here Matikiti is joined by the next generation of local musicians: Last Jaure (age 34) on mbira and vocals and Innocent Chikwanha (age 27) on hosho. [Total time: 74:26]
