Master mbira player Tirivangani “Tiri” Chiongotere of Norton, Zimbabwe, romps through fascinating styles of mbira classics in his first solo recording. He plays here on an mbira he made himself, in a tuning he calls “Nyuchi” (Bees) – it’s nominally nyamaropa tuning around C pitch.
